Hug Point Oregon Coast Hike Guide
Hug Point is a short hike along the coast in Northern Oregon along the beach that lets hikers explore several beach caves, a small waterfall and small rock scrambles along the ocean. This is more of a walk than a hike as it is family friendly, dog friendly and extremely easy. However, its still worth your time to explore since its such a unique and beautiful area in Oregon. Make sure to hit this one with low tide or you will not be able to tackle it.

Directions to Hug Point
Trailhead: Hug Point
Getting Here: The trailhead is located just south of Cannon Beach, Oregon and located right off Highway 101.
Parking: The hike point parking lot is fairly large but can fill up quickly on most days. However, since the hiking is so short, the turnaround to snag a spot is usually pretty easy, even when the lot is full. There are several bathrooms at the trailhead as well.
Fee: There is no fee for this hike as of 2021.
Summary
Dogs: This is absolutely dog friendly with loads of beach for your pup to explore.
Make it a Loop: This is an out and back hike.
Hike Tip(s): This hike is very straightforward but the one thing you need to keep in mind is that you need a low tide to tackle this. Check out the tide table here.
Best Views: Personally, I hiked the views from the point itself and inside of the various ocean caves looking out towards the ocean.

Our Trip to Hug Point: June 2021
Hug Point is a lovely quick stop along highway 101. This is certainly not a destination hike, but if you are in the area and the tides are right, you should certainly check it out. We ended up spending about an hour here exploring, taking pictures and soaking in the views.
